2/2/2010 - KIRKUK AIR BASE, Iraq (AFNS) -- Airmen from the 506th Expeditionary Communications Squadron taught communication techniques to Iraqi air force members Jan. 30 at a command section at Kirkuk Air Base. The laptop training was another step in the nation building component of the Air Force's mission to foster Iraqi self sufficiency. "We think it's important because it's part of our mission here; to build nations and enable our Iraqi partners to be self sustaining," said Maj. John Tran, 506th ECS operations flight commander. After fighting with my wireless connections between my Vista and my friend's Windows Seven pc, I discovered Network Magic. I installed the trial version of the program which is up in two more days and now, I'm looking for a similar 'free' program. Everything has run smoothly since I have been using the program 'but' I am really not in a position to shell out the $50.00 that it will cost after the trial period is over. Hoping that someone has run across a similar program? It would be well worth the cost if I could afford it right now!...

But efforts to distribute accurate information about the dangers of swine flu and the importance of vaccination are hampered by the sheer complexity of the message that the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention aims to convey. I'm writing a desktop application that I'd like to deploy onto Windows, Macintosh, and Linux. I'm trying to pick the language that will give me the most conveniences, without setting timebombs that will go off down the road. Here's what I think I know so far: C++ Pros: 1) resulting code runs fastest, provided I am not a bonehead 2) most flexibility in memory management 3) Maximum difficulty in reverse engineering my object code, though there is nothing revolutionary or complex in what I plan to write. 4) Tools are rock-solid. C++ Cons: 1) memory management is the biggest hassle,...

KABUL, June 2, 2009 The command overseeing U.S. operations in Afghanistan today announced the official launch of its social networking strategy with pages on three online sites. In the two weeks since beta testing began, social networking has become a major focus of U.S. Forces Afghanistans communication efforts, rapidly delivering an unfiltered view of the war from troops on the ground and opening a two-way dialogue with...
